Managing Access to Your Information

Andrews University is committed to protecting your privacy. This commitment is based on (1) our respect for your personal autonomy and (2) your rights as defined by a federal regulation commonly known as the FERPA Act (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as Amended). Please click here for more information about Andrews University’s compliance with FERPA regulations.

Because we are committed to protecting your privacy, our default position is to allow only you (and relevant University personnel as necessary) to access your personal information, also known as your education record. This information includes your registration, grades, transcript, financial arrangements, and more.

Proxy Management

Sometimes it is prudent or necessary for others (for example, a parent, spouse, or sponsor) to view elements of your education record. Therefore, we have a mechanism to help you manage who is allowed to access your education record. If you would like any other person to have access to your education record, please click on Proxy Management.

Designated FERPA Contact Management

In addition, you may want to allow another person or persons (for example, a parent, spouse, or sponsor) to discuss your education record with University personnel. We refer to this person as a FERPA contact, a designation that will allow University personnel to disclose and discuss your education record with that designee. If you would like someone to be listed as your FERPA contact, please click on FERPA Contact Management.
