PLANT SERVICE - Painter

Position summary

Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or laquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces.

Qualifications summary

High School diploma or general education degree (GED): two years minimum painting experience and or training. Must be skilled in drywall / plaster finishing. Must have a USA or Canadian driver license.


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Duties and responsibilities

Read work orders and recicve instruction from a supevisor for painting. Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform task. Smoothes surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces to prepare for painting. Make plaster repairs as needed. Finishes drywall as needed.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. Two years minimum painting experience and or training. Must be skilled in drywall and plaster finishing. Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos and ability to write simole correspondence.

Physical demands

Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel. Regular walking and reaching including climbing. Able to lift 25 lbs. and ocaasinaly up to 50 lbs. Has good visison, depth preception and ablilty to adjust and focus.

Work environment

You will be frequently exposed to  toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather condtions.  You will also be exposed to wet and / or humid condtions, moving mechecnical parts extreme heat, and high precarious places.
