WELLNESS CENTER - Massage Therapist
Job Classification
Position summary
Use of therapeutic touch to improve circulation, promote relaxation, relieve stress, pain, injuries and aid in overall wellness (or wellbeing) of client, through the manipulation of soft tissues and muscles.
Qualifications summary
Must have a minimum of 6 months experience as a massage therapist. Individual must have a current Michigan massage therapist license and maintain proper certifications as well as stay up to date on continued education requirements and trainings.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensuring clean, safe and well-organized work space.
- Setting up work station and ensuring cleanliness and tidiness throughout shift.
- Assisting with keeping linens clean and tidy, and replacing them between massage sessions.
- Sterilization of equipment after every massage.
- Accompanying guests to and from treatment rooms.
- Consulting with clients to identify appropriate massage services.
- Maintenance of required documentation and records for services provided.
- Compliant with all applicable standards, rules and regulations of facility and Michigan State regulations for licensure.

Qualifications
- 6+ months work experience as a massage therapist.
- Proficient knowledge of Swedish, hot stone, trigger point, sports and deep tissue massage.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent people skills.
- Dexterous and able to stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable with performing massages on diverse clients.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand/sit/walk/move at high intensities; use hands, fingers, forearms and elbows to knead muscles and soft tissues, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
