Position summary
We are looking for a technologically savvy student with excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills. The position involves calling prospective students from a pre-populated calling list and helping to recruit students into the department programs. Consistently follow up with interests to convert these to admissions is a significant part of the job. Technology skills are required for editing documents and helping to create reports.
Qualifications summary
- Applicants must be proficient in using a computer.
- Good knowledge of excel workbook is essential.
- Must be able to work independently and take initiatives with little or no prompting.
- Must be able to perform tasks assigned in an efficient manner and with accuracy
- Prefer someone willing to commit to working for at least one year with the department.
Duties and responsibilities
- Make phone calls with follow up e-mails with potential students.
- Work with applicable admission software programs.
- Assist faculty with some clerical and editing work.
- Run errands for the department where applicable.
- Participate in preparation for department programs like pinning, dedication, etc.
- Work closely with admin assistants to complete duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- A reasonable degree of computer proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Ability to learn and understand new software programs quickly
- Ability to work independently with regular accountability.
Technical competencies
Skills test with acceptable results.
Interpersonal interactions
Must be comfortable interacting on a phone with strangers and sending e-mails with minimum supervision.
Physical demands
Must be able to perform simple physical tasks such as lifting light to medium boxes, helping with physical event setup, lifting tables and chairs.
Work environment
Quiet, brightly lit office and classroom environment.
