Position summary
Ruth Murdoch Elementary school is seeking a dependable janitor to join our team.
Qualifications summary
To perform this job successfully, applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma/GED. Be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team. Experience in janitorial services preferred.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
Employee duties include but not limited to maintaining the following areas:
- Vacuum classrooms
- Clean and supply restrooms
- Empty trash
- Clean windows and doors
- Clean building floors (including halls and gym)
- Notify supervisor to replenish cleaning and maitainance supplies
- Notify supervisor about unsafe conditions
- Organize cleaning cart and janitorial storage areas
Supervisory responsibilities
Assign and monitor duties to work education students.

Technical competencies
- The employee must be able to operate at a reasonable level of competency, equipment common to the janitorial duties, such as but not limited to a vacuum cleaner, mops, disinfectent and sanitizing machines, brooms, etc.
Interpersonal interactions
- The employee must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Interact in an ethical manner, showing mutual respect and compassion to all school personnel
- Communicate and work collaboratively with the Principal, faculty, staff and students
- Interactive positiviely with students individually and in groups
- Foster positive relationships with all members of the school community
