Position summary

Periodicals Helper:

Assist with sorting and placing on shelf print issues of periodicals. Donwnload and file e-letters, e-zines, and other digital content in porper locations. Assist with inventory and checking the print and digital collections. Create lists using Microsoft Excel. Perform retrieval functions as needed. Cooperatively cleans the work place. Performs other tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications summary

Required qualifications:

High level of attention to detail and quality of work. Organized and orderly. Strong work ethic. Ability to understand instructions and training in English and follow through on instructions without constant supervision. Be a full time Andrews University student. If international, have the necessary visa allowing you to work in the USA. The ability to faithfully and consistently work at least 10 hours/week. Able to work in two to four hour time blocks.

Duties and responsibilities

*Assist with sorting, and placing on shelf, print issues of periodicals.

*Download, and file in proper locations, e-letters, e-zines, and other digital content.

*Assist with inventory and checking the print and digital collections.

*Create lists using Microsoft Excel.

*Performs retrieval functions as needed.

*Cooperatively cleans the workplace.

*Performs other tasks as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities

None.

*Ability to understand instructions and training in English and follow through on instructions without constant supervision.

*Full-time Andrew University student.

*If international, you must have the necessary visa allowing you to work in the USA.

*Ability to faithfully and consistently work at least 10 hours a week on an agreed to schedule.  More hours may be available during the summer.

*Openings in your class and other activities schedule to allow working two to four-hour time blocks.

Desired Qualifications (not required)

*Familiarity with finding resources in the James White Library.

*Familiarity with using the library catalog computer system is desirable.

*Comfort and proficiency in using computers with a range of computing experiences.

*Prefer two or more years remaining at Andrews University.

*Seventh-day Adventist background is desirable.
