Position summary

The student chaplain assists in the ministries of the Center for Faith Engagement (CFE) by providing spiritual care, programming, and developing ministry leaders, teams, and partners.

We have several positions available for a variety of skills, passions, and ministry focus for next year including but not limited to:



We have limited positions available for Student Chaplain Coordinators, but we also have volunteer Student Chaplain positions available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications summary

The ideal candidate will be a positive representative of their faith by exhibiting authenticity, credibility, and trustworthiness. They must maintain personal integrity and consistent character. Also, the student chaplain will demonstrate a thoughtful, intentional, and persistent curiosity and commitment to grow in a personal relationship with the loving God presented in the Bible. 

Duties and responsibilities


  1. Works to build up their assigned ministry area via mission and vision statements as well as developing goals in coordination with their direct report.

  2. Participates in required training and leadership development including annual leadership retreat, weekly leadership discussions, and other opportunities as assigned by their direct report.

  3. Commits to office hours providing hospitality and accessibility for students.

  4. Responds, in coordination with their direct report, to campus emergencies and ministry needs related to students in crisis.

  5. Adheres to Andrews University policies for conduct, daily processes and risk management.

  6. Maintains a working understanding of the budget and works with their direct report to remain within budget and to request funds if needed.

  7. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of the Center’s executive team.

  8. Commit to the Center’s values for collaboration, excellence, and BRAVE conversations.
