Job Title: Assistant Professor
Classification: [FF] Faculty Full-Time
Department: Music
Hours Per Week:   Full time
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
Available: July 1, 2009
Primary Duties:
  • Teach piano majors, minors, and piano proficiency.
  • Teach core courses in the music curriculum in the areas of music history or music theory depending on the candidate qualifications.
  • Engage in creative research/performance/scholarly activities and service in accordance with university expectations.
  • Provide service in accordance with university expectations, such as advising, committee assignments and community involvement.

Qualifications:
  • Evidence of a successful career as pianist and teacher.
  • A distinguished teaching record in the classroom.
  • Good communication skills and experience as mentor and advisor to students majoring in music.
  • Expertise and experience in teaching music history or music theory courses.
  • Experiential knowledge of Christian education and values.
  • Earned doctoral degree preferred. Masters degree accompanied with a distinguished career will also be considered.
  • Active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Rank will be determined based on academic qualifications and accomplishments.
  • Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

    Primary Duties:
    • Teach a full load of courses in homiletics and related disciplines in the Seminary.
    • Train and mentor students of all cultural backgrounds.
    • Advise students at the masters and doctoral levels.
    • Provide advocacy and leadership in the areas of homiletics and ministry to the Seminary, Andrews University, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and the wider Christian community.
    • Carry regular faculty responsiblities related to teaching, service, research and publication.

    Job Title: Associate Professor

    Department: Clinical & Laboratory Sciences

    Primary Duties:
    • Teach selected fundamental clinical laboratory science courses and clinical year student laboratories, specimen procurement and processing (phlebotomy), and other courses as required for the clinical laboratory science program.
    • Serve as an academic advisor.
    • Participate in curriculum development and student evaluation.
    • Work with adjunct clinical instructors at affiliate facilities.
    • Serve on assigned university committees.

    Qualifications:
    • Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist with nationally recognized certification, either from the American Society for Clinical Pathology or the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel.

    • Teaching experience either in an academic setting or as a clinical instructor.
    • Masters degree in a relevant field. Earned doctoral degree preferred. Individuals with a distinguished clinical laboratory career may also be considered.
