AU Biology Research in the Galapagos Islands
Dr. Jim Hayward and two grad students, Brianna Payne and Libby Megna, traveled to Ecuador, joining up with a professor from Ecuador who accompanied them on to the Galapagos Islands to do research on one of the islands. On the island of Fernandina, they camped in tents on the side of an active volcano. The debris from the volcano covered the island and made for very rough walking. Their research was on marine iguanas. USING MATHEMATICAL MODELS TO PREDICT HAUL OUT PATTERNS OF MARINE IGUANAS will be the title when it is published. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity!
