Resources

Advisors:

Advisors in the English department will go the extra mile to help you in whatever ways they can. The first step is to choose the classes that will best fit your career goals and academic schedule. When you first arrive at Andrews University, your adviser will work with you in creating a map for your entire program, each year making any necessary changes to ensure your continued success. Your advisor will help you navigate the necessary administrative paperwork, give you ideas about where and how to look for jobs and volunteer work, and help you with any other challenges you may encounter during your educational experience. A valuable ally and mentor, your advisor will help you live up to your fullest potential throughout your studies at Andrews University.

Writing Center:

Sponsored by the English Department, the Writing Center is a resource open to students, faculty, and staff from any department. Our dedicated staff of writing consultants helps clients improve their writing through one-on-one coaching on any phase of the writing process, from brainstorming to the final edit. Clients receive the resources to become more adept in their personal, professional, and scholarly writing. In addition to the benefits for clients, qualifying English majors and master’s degree students can benefit professionally from the experience of working as writing consultants. Inquire in the English Department about availability of positions.
