Biography
Dr. Davide Sciarrabba is an Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology and Ethics in the Department of Religion at Andrews University, as well as an ordained minister. His doctoral dissertation explores the concept of faith in the life of the believer as an active response to God's salvific action. Dr. Sciarrabba's current research focuses on the use and interpretation of Scripture in Christian ethics, the ethics of discernment in Christian life, and the theological relationship between grace and faith. Additionally, his work examines Pauline sports metaphors in relation to the transmission of Christian values, the theology and ethics of work, and the theological-ethical relationship between the heavenly and earthly sanctuaries.
He has authored numerous academic articles and co-edited three books. Prior to his appointment at Andrews University, he served the church in various capacities—including chaplain, professor, youth pastor, and senior pastor—at the Istituto Universitario Avventista Villa Aurora in Florence, Italy; the Adventist University of France; and the Campus Adventista de Sagunto in Spain. He is married to Dr. Sonia Badenas, and they have two children, Flavia and Marco.
