Department Computer Lab
Located in Griggs Hall, the Doris Regazzi Micro-Computer Center has been established for the exclusive use of students majoring or minoring in Religion/Theology. Facilitating academic study, the computers are loaded with all the specialized software youll need.

The Upper Room
The Upper Room is a quiet place set aside for students to pray, meditate, and study. It is supplied with shelves of religious books and has wireless computer access. Whether you want a place to do uninterrupted research or just need some quiet time alone, this is the place to slip away from all the noise and bustle of campus.

Advising
Expect to develop a close relationship with your advisor who will assist in your choice of classes and help ensure your success. An advisor will direct you to the appropriate people, advise you on where and how to look for jobs and volunteer work, and help you with any other issues you come up against during your educational experience.

Religion Round Table
Every Monday afternoon all Religion Department Faculty and Religion/Theology Majors meet together in the faculty lounge of the Student Center. The Round Table provides three important and unique experiences: worship and fellowshipnot only in the department, but with the broader university and denominational community; departmental communication and information; and training in various aspects of ministry.

Ministerial Association
The Andrews Ministerial Association (AMA) is a student-led organization designed to provide fellowship, nurture and ministry experiences for students of the Religion Department. The club sponsors numerous activities throughout the school year such as retreat weekends, vesper services, and outreach activities.

Summer Field School
A program unique to Andrews University, the summer field school is an exciting and excellent training program for connecting with others and sharing your faith. The field school runs for eleven weeks. During that time youll be trained in small group leadership; gain practical experience in ministry, evangelism, and visitation; and experience deeper personal spiritual growth. The field school is not just for pastors. It provides the opportunity for you, whatever your long-term goals, to connect with peers, mentors, and those who are searching for a rich religious understanding. One of the best perks of the program is the excellent scholarships. These unique and sizable gifts typically run between $3000 and $4000 and depend primarily on your performance and participation.

Theta Alpha Kappa Honor Society
For those Religion students who excel, the National Honor Society for Religious Studies and Theology is an excellent opportunity to grow spiritually and academically. To qualify for membership, students must attain a 3.5 GPA within their major and a 3.0 overall GPA. Theta Alpha Kappa is closely associated with the American Academy of Religion, providing numerous networking and fellowship opportunities across the nation.

Ministerial Candidacy
So, you want to become a pastoral candidate? To be a candidate for a degree from the Religion department of Andrews University is an honor not to be taken lightly. It means that you have experienced a deep conviction to work for the Lord, the church, and the world in a position of service. Because the Religion Department takes preparation for the ministry seriously, you will be provided with opportunities to discover yourself and connect with your goals though psychological testing and personal interviews. This process ultimately results in a recommendation for your qualifications for ministry. It is our goal to help you find your niche and then do all in our power to help you fill it well.
