Biography:

Patricia Fonstad received a Diploma in Physiotherapy and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Manitoba, graduating in 1973 and 1976 respectively.  She received her Doctor of Science from Andrews University in 2006, graduating with honors. 

She passed her Part A manual therapy exams in 1994 and she received her Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy by passing the Part B exams in 1996. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists, a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the College of Physical Therapists of Alberta. She earned full membership in the Society or Orthopaedic Medicine by passing the examinations in 1985. .She is also certified in medical acupuncture, intramuscular stimulation and sports physiotherapy. 

Pat has taught in the Postprofessional program at Andrews University since 2008. She also is a contract instructor for the University of Alberta, Alberta, Canada.

Pat works for the Chronic Pain Centre in Calgary; a multidisciplinary facility for the management of complex chronic pain cases, typically of spinal origin.  The scope of the work involves patient assessments and education, recommendations for fluoroscopically guided interventional musculoskeletal injections (facet blocks, nerve blocks, etc.), prolotherapy and other medical management as well as manual therapy and exercise intervention. She also maintains a private practice of clients with complex chronic pain conditions.

In her free time she is an avid alpine skier in the winter and enjoys hiking and biking in the summer.
