All employees of Andrews University are covered during the course of their employment, including student workers. Any work-related incident causing injury must be reported immediately.

Employees are covered by workers' compensation insurance. Any injury which occurs in connection with assigned work must be reported to the department head or the immediate supervisor.
Within twenty-four hours the injury must be reported to the Human Resources Office on the proper supervisors accident report form. The insurance covers the required medical and hospital bills and may also cover a portion of the salary or wages if the employee is unable to continue working. All injuries shall be reported even though they may not lead to an actual claim for reimbursement, as this is required by the insurance carrier and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
