The mean age of those with syphilis is older than with GC, the rate of syphilis in teenage women has been increasing
Problem: Minority teens have high rates of pregnancy at very early ages.
This leads to heightened risk of congenital syphilis, especially if prenatal care is minimal, as is often the case in the minority population
