If you will be joining us for Fall 2011, the best day to plan to arrive is Sunday, August 21, or if traveling long distance, Friday, August 19. Classes begin Monday, August 22. Housing charges begin the day you arrive.
Please make sure that you have completed the following steps and received confirmation before finalizing your traveling plans: in fact, you cannot move into University housing until you have completed the following processes:
- Acceptance to AU
- Residence Hall Application The earlier you notify Lamson that you are coming, the better we can serve you in confirming room and roommate assignments.
- Financial Clearance
- Obtain financial clearance before attempting to check in or move in. In fact, this should be done before you even arrive in the area: don't count on getting this complicated task accomplished on campus as folks are moving in, as SFS will be busy processing last minute applications. For information regarding your financial status, go to www.andrews.edu/SF and/or call your financial advisor at 269.471.3334.
- Residence Hall Deposit
- A room deposit of $200 is required when you apply to live in the women's residence halls, and housing will not be assigned until it's receipt (think of it as an apartment security deposit!). At the point that you don't plan to return to Lamson for future semesters, request it's release in the check-out process and the deposit will be released back to your AU account.
Please do not plan to check in/out during Sabbath hours (sunset Friday through sunset Saturday). We celebrate Sabbath hours as precious time with the Lord, and our staff will not be available for non-essential services during those special hours.
