Each school year, the Lamson ladies gather to work together towards a common goal, a project to help others.  Please be planning and praying about how you can be involved in the Community Service Projects in this and future years! Following are some projects we've worked on in the past.

Canned Food Collection

Lamson worked together to collect more than 1,000 canned food items for the Niles, Michigan,    Salvation Army, who distributes it to those in need.

Rice and Beans

Lamson women collected more than 600 pounds of rice and beans, and packaged them with recipes,  then distributed them to local needy.

Prayer Power

Lamson women divided the campus directory and through the course of the year, prayed by name for each person and department, then sent a card to let them know!

Children's Carnival

With such a large community of student families, Lamson decided to create a fun-filled outreach for the children of our own students. The Kid's Karnival offered a variety of fun stations, from story-telling to fishing for treasure, to ring toss, and more. Everyone had a great time!

Girls Night In

Lamson hosted a "Girls Night In" for the young ladies of the Harbor of Hope church, located in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Lamson ladies volunteered their beauty skills to help the Harbor of Hope girls feel pampered and beautiful. Beauty treatments ranged from hair care (braids, extensions, corn-rows, etc.) to personalized nails and make-up application. A photo-booth allowed the Harbor of Hope girls to capture their new looks with their friehds. The Harbor of Hope girls received copies of the photos taken the following Sabbath. Throughout the evening an inspirational film was playing and the Harbor of Hope girls left Lamson with a renewed drive for excellance in education.

"It's Not Just A Book"

"It's Not Just A Book" brought Lamson together to collect inspirational books for the floating libraries on two navy ships. Thermometer-style counters were placed on each hall so residents could watch their donations make a difference. Each book recieved a hand-written encouraging message for those who will read the books once aboard the ships. More than 275 books were collected through this endeavor.

Worship Outreach

Lamson ladies volunteered their talents with Andrews Academy by conducting several worship services throughout the school year. Both Lamson ladies and the Academy students were blessed by the oppurtunity to worship and fellowship together.

Clergy Appreciation

A group of Lamson ladies surprised ocal clergy at one of their meetings. Each woman present shared a testimony of how one of the clergy had personally touched her life and had impacted the larger campus. After the time of testimony, the ladies sang for the clergy, and split up to pray one-on-one with the clergy. The ladies asked for their clergy's prayer requests and together the ladies and clergy communed with God.

Mission Hondurus

Our community gathered items for a mission school in Honduras.

2010-2011 Comunity Service Project

Our current community service project is partnering with a Women's Literacy program in Nepal! Together we collected enough funds to run the project for a year!

2010-2011 Project Linus

We are also inviting our residents to knit or crochet baby blankets!

Is there any limit to what can be accomplished by this many good-hearted
women working together for the glory of God?!
