Meier and Burman Halls provide so much more than a place to sleep and study. Take a look around, and you'll discover a wealth of facilities you're sure to use on a regular basis.

Meier Hall Chapel

Our newly renovated Meier Chapel is where most dorm worships take place. Meier Chapel is located on the second floor in Meier Hall and is reserved for spiritual programs. It has an elevated stage, 1 piano, drop down screen and projector, complete sound system, and tiered seating which accommodates up to 400 people.

Computer Labs

Computer crashed? Don't panic. Meier Hall provides a 24-hour computer lab for residents where academic use always takes priority over recreational use. If one of the lab's computers freezes or you confront the "blue screen of death," please inform the Main Office at: meierburmanhousing@andrews.edu.

Health Club

At Andrews, we know your academic success is related to your physical health and development. So we encourage you to get up and get active. Join an intramural team, and remember that Meier Hall offers residents a top-notch health club. Located on the ground floor of Meier Hall, our Health Club features cardio machines, free weights, treadmills, elliptical fitness cross-trainers (EFX), stationary bicycles, and even a sauna and steam room. You can catch some rays in the middle of a Michigan winter in the tanning bed, and purchase nutritional supplements to boost your workout's impact. For more info contact helma@andrews.edu

Kitchenettes

Should you get inspired to impress your significant other with a homemade birthday cake or whip up an ethnic dish not readily available on campus, both Meier and Burman Halls feature fully-equipped kitchenettes. Just be sure to clean up your mess. Both residence hall kitchenettes close at 11 p.m.

Laundry Rooms

Coin-operated washing machines and dryers are located in the basements and you'll also find ironing closets situated at the end of each floor.  Please be aware that in preparation for Sabbath, laundry rooms are closed one hour before Friday night sundown and unlocked after sundown Saturday night. If you find the chore of matching socks too much, our housekeeping department offers laundry service at a minimal charge per pound.

Lobbies

With their comfortable seating and ample lighting, Meier and Burman's main floor lobbies are designed for hanging out, studying with friends, or catching a game on the big-screen HDTV. Main lobbies are coed until the regularly scheduled curfew of 11 p.m. on weeknights, and 1 a.m. Saturday night. Please keep clothing and behavior kosher. Remember, it's each resident's responsibility to maintain the dignity, integrity, and reputation of themselves and their guests. In addition to the main floor lobbies, you'll find lobbies on each floor of both residence halls. These are restricted to Meier and Burman residents.

Meeting Spaces

Burman Activity Center is located in the basement of Burman Hall. It has a kitchen, 25 tables, and 120 chairs available for use. There are also couches and chairs for informal meetings.

Burman Auditorium is located on the main floor just behind the offices. The Auditorium has an elevated stage, piano, sound system connections, and tiered seating which accommodates up to 320 people.

Meier Chapel is located on the second floor in Meier Hall. It has an elevated stage, 1 piano, a large drop down screen and projector, complete sound system, selective lighting, and tiered seating which accommodates up to 400 people.  

Use of all facilities requires a reservation in advance. Student groups interested in using any of the residence hall facilities must be pre-approved by the Student Life office. For more information email: meierburmanhousing@andrews.edu
