Hyveth Williams, PhD, DMin, is a professor of homiletics and director of the Doctor of Ministry program at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. Prior to her appointment as professor in 2009, she also served as an adjunct professor of religion at Loma Linda University faculty and the Andrews University Theological Seminary. Also, she served as senior pastor of Campus Hill Church in Loma Linda, California.
Hyveth is the first black female pastor and the first female senior pastor in the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. A graduate of Columbia Union College with a Bachelor of Arts in theology (1984), she received her Master of Divinity from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary (1989). In 1998 she graduated from Boston University School of Theology with a Doctor of Ministry and in 2022 from Andrews University with a PhD.
She is the author of four books. Articles by Pastor Williams have appeared in Insight, Signs of the Times, Adventist Review, Ministry, Women of Spirit, Message and Celebration magazines.
