Adjunct Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award

This award recognizes the essential contribution of adjunct faculty who demonstrate excellence in their teaching. One adjunct faculty is selected each year by a faculty committee that reviews student nominations and the following criteria:

• Have served as an adjunct at Andrews University for a minimum of four semesters.
• Show commitment to the University’s mission.
• Show commitment to lifelong learning in relationship to area-related pedagogy.
• Demonstrate creativity and innovation in teaching resulting in effective learning.
• Stimulate interest of students and encourage them to think imaginatively, critically and independently.
• Engage issues of diversity in the classroom.
• Develop relationships with students in nurturing and compassionate ways.
• Adjust to the needs and interests of students using feedback from assessments.
• Adjunct faculty who have received the award are not eligible to receive it again.
