Adjunct Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award
This award recognizes the essential contribution of adjunct faculty who demonstrate excellence in their teaching. One adjunct faculty is selected each year by a faculty committee that reviews student nominations and the following criteria:
- Have served as an adjunct at Andrews University for a minimum of four semesters.
- Show commitment to the University’s mission.
- Show commitment to lifelong learning in relationship to area-related pedagogy.
- Demonstrate creativity and innovation in teaching resulting in effective learning.
- Stimulate interest of students and encourage them to think imaginatively, critically and independently.
- Engage issues of diversity in the classroom.
- Develop relationships with students in nurturing and compassionate ways.
- Adjust to the needs and interests of students using feedback from assessments.
- Adjunct faculty who have received the award are not eligible to receive it again.
