Connect MacMail to AU Gmail

Unless there is a technical need to use MacMail, it is recommended that you use a web browser to take advantage of all the features provided by your AU Gmail account.

What are the IMAP settings to connect to my AU Gmail account?

MacMail (version 7+)

1. Enable IMAP in Gmail
2. Select Mail > Preferences....
3. Select the Accounts tab
4. Select the + to add a new account.
5. Enter the following information:
   • Full Name: your name
   • Email Address: your Andrews email address
   • Password: your Andrews password
   • Uncheck Automatically set up account
6. Click Create
7. Enter the following information:
   • Account Type: IMAP
   • Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com
   • User Name: your Andrews email address
   • Password: your Andrews password
8. Click Continue
9. Enter the following information:
   • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
   • Select Use Authentication
   • User Name: your Andrews email address
   • Password: your Andrews password
10. Select Continue
11. Review the account summary then select Create
