Connect Microsoft Outlook to AU Gmail

Unless there is a technical need to use Microsoft Outlook, it is recommended that you use a web browser to take advantage of all the features provided by your AU Gmail account.

What are the IMAP settings to connect to my AU Gmail account?

Incoming Server (IMAP)	imap.gmail.com
Outgoing Server (SMTP)	smtp.gmail.com
Incoming Port (IMAP)	993 (SSL)
Outgoing Port (SMTP)	465 (SSL)

Outlook 2013/2016

Enable IMAP in Gmail
Open Outlook 2013
Go to File > Add Account
Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types
Select POP or IMAP
Settings:
- Your Name: Enter your name
- Email Address: Enter your Andrews email address
- Account Type: Select IMAP
- Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
- User Name: Enter your Andrews email address
- Password: Enter your Andrews password
Select More Settings
Select Advanced tab.
- Incoming server port must be 993, and must use SSL encryption
- Outgoing server can use 465, and must use SSL encryption
Select Outgoing Server tab
- Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication . The radio
- Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
- Select OK when finished
Select Test Connection to test IMAP configuration
Select Next
Select Close

Outlook 2010

Enable IMAP in Gmail
Open Outlook 2013

Select Internet Email
Settings:
- Your Name: Enter your name
- Email Address: Enter your Andrews email address
- Account Type: Select IMAP
- Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
- User Name: Enter your Andrews email address
- Password: Enter your Andrews password
Select More Settings
