2015 Andrews Research Conference:
Early Career Researchers in the Social Sciences
We are pleased to announce that the Office of Research, in cooperation with the Andrews University Social Sciences Departments, will be hosting the 2nd annual Andrews Research Conference (ARC) on our campus from May 13-17, 2015. The conference will be sponsored by the North American Division, General Conference, and the Adventist Human-Subjects Researchers Association.
All Adventist graduate students, post-docs and early faculty in the Social Sciences disciplines at non-Adventist universities are welcome. This includes Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Communications, Community and International Development, and Anthropology. Participants must apply by submitting an application with their abstract to the Office of Research by February 1, 2014. The submissions will be reviewed by the Program Committee with notification of acceptance given in March. Each participant is expected to give a 10-15 minute oral presentation on their research.
The keynote speaker is Christian Smith, Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for the Study of Religion and Society at the University of Notre Dame. The address will be given on Thursday evening, May 14 on the Science of Generosity.
The conference itself will be free with on-campus and conference expenses provided for participants. However, participants will need to provide their own transportation to Andrews University.
