Or pounding them might be more like it. Yet you persist. Highlighting, underlining, writing in the margins, folding down corners. And when all is read and done, you pick up that trusty Number 2, hoping something has been embedded into your gray matter.  The life of the mind, they call it.  Not for the faint of heart! For those in particular who have made the Deans' List, we salute your accomplishments.
