Andrews University has planned a number of sesquicentennial celebrations. 


March 11, 2024. Founder’s Day. On this day, Andrews celebrated two important early milestones. On March 11, 1874, the Seventh-day Adventist Educational Society formed with the express purpose of establishing a college, and the SDAES Articles of Association were then filed with the State of Michigan on March 16.Come celebrate the 150th anniversary of the University with cake and festivities in the Campus Center (main floor staircase) 12–1:30 p.m. Answer trivia questions to enter a raffle! Faculty, staff and students are invited to wear Andrews University colors and/or apparel on March 11 to commemorate the day.

April 4, 2024. Giving Day. Thank you for your support on Giving Day!

August 24, 2024. Commemoration: Classes began in the Review and Herald building on Aug. 24, 1874. View the schedule of events here.

Sept. 15, 2024. Commemoration: J.N. Andrews family departed for Europe from Boston on Sept. 15, 1874.

Sept. 26–29, 2024. Alumni Weekend. Among other events during homecoming, Meredith Jones Gray, PhD, released her second volume on Andrews University history, "Forward in Faith."

October 17–19, 2024. Academic Conference and Symposium. This conference was hosted by the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary (Depts. of World Mission and Church History), in collaboration with the General Conference. The focus was how Adventist Mission has made a global impact.

Jan. 5, 2025. Inauguration of the first Battle Creek building.

Feb. 23, 2025. Spring Gala. You are cordially invited to the Andrews University Sesquicentennial Gala: Andrews in our Hearts. Join us in celebrating the University’s 150th anniversary with fine dining and entertainment. Hors d'oeuvres will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a served dinner at 6:30 p.m.

An invitation to reserve your tickets will come soon! RSVP by Jan. 23, 2025. Ticket cost is $75/person. All proceeds will benefit the Andrews University International Student Fund.

Mar. 10–12, 2025. Scholarly Presentations on the History of Andrews University. On behalf of the 150th Committee, you are invited to come hear presentations given by President John Wesley Taylor, George Knight, Gil Valentine, Kevin Burton and Katharine Van Arsdale on aspects of the history of Andrews University. The presentations will be held March 10–12 from 6:15–8:45 p.m. Location to be determined.

Mar. 11, 2025. Time capsule event (between Buller and Nethery; 11:30 a.m.).
