Guidelines for The Kinds of Records to be Retained and Transferred to The Archives The following types of records generated in a University office or entity should be maintained and kept for office needs or transfers to the Archives. Published Materials (produced by the office; develop a procedure for saving a sample of all items and send them to the Archives at the end of each year) Unpublished Materials (produced by the office; transfer complete sets, usually once a year) Audio-Visual Materials (produced by the office) Data Processing Records This list is not meant to be all inclusive, but gives an idea of the types of records that the University would like to see preserved in the Archives. See your respective Records Retention Schedule for more information. If you do not have a Records Retention Schedule suited to your office needs, consult with the Archivist to develop one. |
