eigen*

Founded September 2002 by the Andrews University mathematics and physics departments, eigen* alludes to a German word for singularity as adopted in quantum mechanics and matrix representations. Eigenvalue equations yield eigenfunction or eigenvector solutions which are considered to be eigenstates, or ideal states. The asterisk denotes the complex conjugate as well as a reference symbol. You know you're eigen if you're unique, idealistic, and complex.

eigentalks occur every Friday from 12:30-1:30pm in Haughey Hall 133. Twice a semester an eigenvespers is held on Friday evening at a faculty member's home.
