Spirituality in the Classroom
We make a conscious effort to include God in all we do here at Andrews University. What's better than working with God to successfully run a Christian university? Whether we're at work or play, spirituality is at the core.
At Andrews University, we integrate spirituality and Christianity in everything we do. This practice seems to supply all activities, regardless of how hectic they may be, with a sense of calm.
We want both our faculty and students to get into a habit of consciously including God in everything they do. He's watching regardless of whether we invite Him or not, so why not allow Him to work with us?
In the classroom, professors at Andrews are trained to make sure that God does not go unmentioned. Some do it by starting class with prayer or a short worship, and others do it by welcoming spiritual and religious discussions on a regular basis.
The presence of God also shows in student-teacher relationships. Our professors care. Not only does they're job require them to do more than just read a textbook, but more importantly, they're morals and spiritual beliefs drive them to be involved and concerned with they're students.
Fairly new to Andrews University is our intercollegiate sports program. We believe that competitive sports can be played in a Christian like manor, and we make sure that our student-athletes understand and practice this.
Andrews University is built on Christian principles. We credit our success as an institution to God and his involvement.
