Andwele Worrell

Senior architecture students are busy. Senior architecture students that manage the university weekly newspaper are busier. If you don't believe me, ask international student Andwele Worrell.

Andwele grew up on his family's small farm in Speightstown, Barbados where he spent many days climbing trees, hauling cow manure, and listening to soca on the radio.Andwele Worrell

When Andwele completed high school, he had a desire to study architecture. "I searched hard for a program that was both Adventist and had a major I was interested in pursuing." Andrews University had that rare combination that he was looking for.

Since he made the decision to come to Andrews University, Andwele hasn't looked back. The architecture program has been everything, and more than, he expected. He loves the Architecture Resource Center for its abundance of resources. There, the busy architecture student can study, research, eat, and most importantly, relax.

His most memorable experience at Andrews came when he went on the Architecture European Tour. "It was the most enlightening experience of my life," says Andwele. "Not only did we have the chance to examine the buildings we'd read about for ourselves, but we also got to study foreign culture and economy."

After graduation, Andwele hopes to get a job at an architecture firm doing what he loves. He's learned a lot since he's been at Andrews. When asked what was the most important, he said, "Ideas are valuable assets, but we only reap the value of those assets after successfully executing the ideas."
