Guillermo Magana
From the day he set foot on the Andrews University campus, Guillermo Magana was determined to be a leader and make a difference.
Being elected as president of his freshman class only foreshadowed what was to come. In his sophomore year, he was again elected as class president. One would think that's enough responsibility, but not Guillermo. In both his junior and senior years, he was voted in by the 
student body as the Student Association President.
With all that he has taken part in and accomplished in his time at AU, the political science major from Fresno, California has very humble dreams for his life after graduation. When asked about his plans after he leaves Andrews, he says, "I hope to be very happy. Before I got to AU, I was very career driven. However, after finding Christ my sophomore year, I realized that one is only truly happy with Christ."
Like most students that come to AU, Guillermo's relationship with Christ has grown stronger. The Christian lifestyle can often come across as a tedious or even stressful experience. But Guillermo says that AU has a unique environment when it comes to spirituality. "The students create an environment that is receptive to having fun while at the same time maintaining a spiritual walk with Jesus Christ."
The relationship between Guillermo and Andrews University has definitely been a two-way street. He has given the school his leadership, and the school has given him the opportunity. When asked what he likes the most about Andrews, Guillermo says, "A university is only as great as those that serve its everyday needs. The faculty and staff our dedicated to ensure that the student succeeds." When asked what will stick with him, Guillermo says, "The love of Christ."
