Students who complete this program should be able to:

  • Explain and apply principles of Christian faith to their personal life and ministry.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the global mission, beliefs, and heritage of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Address issues of faith within the framework of a Seventh-day Adventist community.
  • Engage in research and effectively communicate findings in contextually appropriate ways.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to nurturing community through regular worship and participation in a local church organization.


At least 15 credits in the major and 30 overall must be completed through Andrews University. Credit for prior college-level learning may be evaluated after completing 12+ Andrews University credits.

  • Official transcripts from high school with an average GPA of 2.5 or GED certificate with minimum 450 on 5 sections, no score lower than 410
  • ACT / SAT scores are required if high school was completed in the United States within the last 3 years
  • Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended with overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • English language proficiency test scores when first language is not English and less than four years of high school where English was the language of instruction
  • Students in US without documentation welcome

Graduates may choose careers as pastors, Bible workers, chaplains and teachers, or continue postgraduate studies in theology, ministry or religious education. A dual major or minor opens up many other careers and graduate programs, including medical, legal, business, and communication fields.
