Who Says We're Only Academic?
SPLAD majors make a big splash wherever they are, whether it’s in the field of Speech- Language Pathology, Audiology; art; drama—or in this case singing for the February 13 Pistons game in Auburn Hills, Mich. Lorren Hickman, one of our SPLAD majors was privileged with the opportunity to sing the nation’s national anthem along with a friend, Daphne Knecht. She made time for a SPLAD staffer to ask her a few questions about her recent experience, one that she will probably never forget.

SPLAD Professor Receives Early-On Grant
SPLAD Departmental head, Dr. Lena G. Caesar was chosen as the one and only grantee amongst a pool of Michigan applicants to receive funding for a research project designed to determine the preparation needed for personnel working in the field of early intervention. The Clinton County Regional Educational Service Agency is the beneficiary of this grant. Providing a lengthy list of guidelines for applicants pursuing this type of research, the agency’s Office of Innovative Projects judged applicants’ proposals on how closely they fit with the mission of the Early On Center for Higher Education.
