REGISTRATION OPTIONS
Once the applicant is accepted, he/she can register in the DI program.
All Andrews University Dietetic Interns must register for both the fall and spring semesters (fall Registration is to be completed before August 3rd, and Spring registration is to be completed before December 16th).
There are two options for registering:
REGISTRATION OPTION #1 – GRADUATE CREDIT
In order to receive 8 graduate credits, the student first needs to fill out and send in the Andrews University Graduate Studies Application (or the student may fill it out online for faster processing at http://www.andrews.edu/grad/admission/), and apply for the MS in Nutrition & Wellness. Those taking the Dietetic Internship for credit as part of our MS degree are eligible for financial assistance, and it is considered a full-time program. The student does not need to take the GRE, unless they are planning on continuing on with our program once the internship has been completed. During in the DI there are not additional classwork for the credit.
Acceptance to the graduate program is a separate process and requires a separate application and proper documentation.( For example: Original transcript)
Once the student has received their letter of acceptance from Andrews University Graduate Admissions office, they will need to contact the Department of Nutrition & Wellness to receive their Registration PIN number, and to confirm their Andrews University ID number. When they have this information, they will need to go to vault.andrews.edu, and activate their username (by clicking on Username Activation on the right-hand side). The Department of Nutrition & Wellness prefers to send emails to Andrews University email accounts so please be sure to forward all email to the email address you check most frequently (this is the last step in the Username Activation process). The student will then go back to vault.andrews.edu to Registration Central and register for FDNT 594-001 Practicum for 4 credits (please contact Office Manager for Computer Registration Number for the Fall and Spring semesters).
Cost for credit (Option #1)
Amount Due Per Semester: $3,708.00*
For a total of $8,340.00 for the 2012-2013 school year.
$3,708/sem + Professional fees ** of $462.00/sem
= $4,170.00/semester

**Professional Fee of $354 + General Fee of $108=$462.00
REGISTRATION OPTION #2 – NON-CREDIT
If the student chooses not to do their internship for credit, the student will need to fill out and send in two yellow Permission to Take Classes Forms (PTC) along with the money – one for the Fall semester that needs to be sent in by August 3rd, and one for the Spring semester that needs to be sent in before December 16th. Once this has been sent in, they will receive an email from the Department of Nutrition & Wellness telling them what their Andrews University ID number is. When they have received this information, they will need to go to vault.andrews.edu, and activate their username (by clicking on Username Activation on the right-hand side). The Department of Nutrition & Wellness only sends emails to Andrews University email accounts so please be sure to forward all email to the email address you check most frequently (this is the last step in the Username Activation process). The student will need to state on the PTC forms that they will be taking FDNT 594-002 Practicum for 0 credits. Please see the payment for the Dietetic Internship sheet for the steps on how to proceed with payment for this option.

PAYMENT INFORMATION
HOW TO PAY FOR OPTION #1 – GRADUATE CREDIT
Once the student has been accepted into the MS Nutrition & Wellness (see Registering for the Dietetic Internship) you will be able to either pay online at vault.andrews.edu under FinVue, or pay by calling Student Financial Services at 269-471-3326 to make a credit card payment. You may also send a check or money order payable to Andrews University (please be sure to write your Andrews University ID number on the check or money order). This will need to be done for both the Fall and the Spring semesters. Please note that the student will not be able to be registered, and therefore will not be able to start the Dietetic Internship, until payment has been received.

HOW TO PAY FOR OPTION #2 – NON-CREDIT
Once the student has filled out their Permission to Take Classes(PTC) form (see Registering for the Dietetic Internship) they will then need to send a check or money order with it payable to Andrews University (please be sure to write your Andrews University ID number on the check). Both the PTC form and the check need to be sent back to the Department of Nutrition & Wellness. This will need to be done for both the Fall and the Spring semesters.
Please note that the student will not be able to be registered, and therefore will not be able to start the Dietetic Internship, until payment has been received.
