Biography

Cheryl received her B.A. from Indiana University, majoring in Biological Sciences and Secondary Ed., and earned an M.S. from Indiana University in Secondary Ed. Cheryl also holds both elementary and secondary principals’ licenses. She completed her Ph.D. at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, with a cross-disciplinary major in Leadership. During her 30 years in public education, she taught science courses to middle school students for 20 years (stars in her heavenly crown!!) and served for 10 years in K-12 school administration.  Cheryl’s experiences in education include inner city school settings, as well as small town and rural sites.  In addition to her work as with faculty at Indiana Wesleyan University, Cheryl teaches for the Master’s of Education, Liberal Arts, and Business and Leadership programs, both online and onsite. Cheryl’s research interests include cross-generational studies, faculty development processes, intercultural studies, first year teacher experiences, customer services, and mentoring.  Cheryl is the author of three books, frequently presents seminars at regional, state, and national conferences, and serves as a consultant.  In addition to her academic pursuits, Cheryl is an accomplished musician and writer.
