Enrollment Now Open for Fitness & Lifestyle Improvement Plan - St. Joseph

With the right tools, weight loss, improved health, and increased energy can be achieved and maintained for a lifetime. The Fitness and Lifestyle Improvement Plan (FLIP) is a comprehensive eight-week program that combines the three essential components for permanent weight loss: nutrition education, behavior modification, and exercise.

FLIP is led by experienced experts in the field of weight management. The program cost is $250 and includes:

  • A two-month fitness membership
  • Pre- and post-program assessment of weight, body composition, girth measurement, blood pressure, and cardiovascular fitness
  • Individualized exercise prescription and meal plans that promote maximum body fat loss
  • Weekly interactive nutrition classes
  • Proven techniques for fostering a healthy relationship with food
  • Progress reports sent to your physician

FLIP developer and Lakeland Registered Dietitian Pam Kurtz emphasizes that the classes encourage an ongoing, healthier lifestyle, not just weight loss.

“More than 80% of what is stopping us from becoming healthy is mental,” said Kurtz. “In class we work on changing the way we think about food by experiencing hands-on strategies that address emotional eating, triggers for overeating, mindful eating, and other topics. We learn new ways to respond that become contagious and empowering.”
