For the record, chin-up proficiency is not required.
“They’re always concerned, saying, ‘Oh, I need to be able to do chin-ups first,’” Vivianne Perez of ESA Aerial Arts says. “Most people can’t do a chin-up when they start.”
ESA, in South Bend, offers aerial arts classes where participants are able to discover and hone their inner circus performer on aerial hoop and silks.
