Live in - Caregiver Companion needed

Classifieds: Employment | Posted on March 31, 2021

  • We are looking for a live-in caregiver/companion for Mr. Todman's mother, Doris Todman, who lives in St. Thomas, USVI.  She is 95 years of age, lives alone in a condo, and does have a vehicle.
  • We would like to see a student studying to be a nurse or a medical caregiver, but it is not necessarily a requirement and can be discussed with Mr. Todman.  We would love to find someone interested in the field of geriatric care, as it would be a great experience for the student.
  • This person would live in the condo with her, make sure she is eating properly and taking her medications, get her to doctor appointments, to the grocery, etc., and provide companionship.  Other requests would be discussed with Mr. Todman.
  • Mrs. Todman does not suffer from dementia or Alzheimer's.  She is surprisingly well for her age, and is actually a pretty delightful and extremely interesting woman.
  • Work hours, full expectations, details and pay would be discussed directly with Mr. Todman after first contact with me.
  • There would be a series of interviews with Mr. Todman and his two siblings, along with an interview with Mrs. Todman.  We would conduct necessary background checks, so the applicant would need to be willing to go through that process.
  • This person could begin working as soon as all employment details were worked out and moving arrangements were made.

We think that if a student who might be taking online classes in the Fall were interested in this opportunity, it would be a win-win for everyone.
