Randy Karim, DPT 2008
Andrews University DPT program was the perfect environment to sharpen my critical thinking skills, develop my clinical knowledge, and foster my spiritual growth. The faculty and my fellow classmates developed great relationships; we felt like a family. During my time at Andrews, I was given the opportunity to train at world-renowned rehabilitation facilities including Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, Florida Hospital, and Cleveland Clinic. After graduating from AUPT, I completed the Lulenski-Smith Neurological Physical Therapy Residency program at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During this post-doctoral training, I worked as a clinician on the Brain Injury and Trauma team, and completed gait analysis research with brain injury and stroke survivors.
I currently work as a Clinical Specialist for the Cleveland Clinic, at Lakewood Hospital in inpatient rehabilitation with stroke and acquired brain injury survivors, and also at the Mellen Center with clients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and Parkinsons Disease. I became a Certified Brain Injury Specialist through the Brain Injury Association of America in 2012. I also became an APTA Board-Certified Neurological Clinical Specialist in 2013. I have been involved with stroke research at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center and have guest-lectured at several local universities.
I have recently accepted the role as a Director for the Neurological Physical Therapy Residency program at Cleveland Clinic and am excited to help other physical therapists develop expert clinical skills when working with neurologically impaired clients.
Adrienne Greene, DPT 2012
Once I knew I wanted to become a Physical Therapist, I had no doubt in my mind where I wanted to go to school for my graduate education - Andrews University. The program prepared me to be a well-rounded therapist by emphasizing the value of critical thinking, teamwork and lifelong learning. One of the greatest things I enjoyed about the program was the genuine teachers and students who created an environment that was conducive to academic success. Since graduation I have been working at Lakeland Medical Center in St Joseph, MI as an Acute Care therapist. I have been certified as a Clinical Instructor and have a special interest in vestibular rehab. I am so pleased with my education I have received through AU DPT!
Jaime Edelstein, DScPT 2011
I am forever grateful to the post-Professional Program in Physical Therapy at Andrews University. I completed my DScPT and my COMT certification through NAIOMT. This program forever changed the way I think through my clinical examination, differentially diagnose and formulate a treatment plan. It made me a skilled and thoughtful clinician and a clinical mentor. In turn, it has since opened doors for me in management and I am a member of our leadership team in identifying future talent for growth in our organization. I work for Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City where I am currently the Director of Regional Off-Site Facilities overseeing and mentoring 7 different clinics. And yes, I still make time to treat and I love it.
