Students applying to either program must have graduated from an approved school of physical therapy and be licensed to practice physical therapy in their country of origin or country in which they live.
The equivalent of a 4 year US bachelor's degree
Two years of experience working as a physical therapist prior to applying.
United States and Canadian trained physical therapists must complete the Physical Therapy Evaluation Tool (PTET) administered by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and proven competency towards an entry-level master's degree in physical therapy.
Foreign trained physical therapists must complete the Foreign Credentialing Commission on Physical Therapy (FCCPT) application
Students with a master's degree must have graduated from an approved school of physical therapy and be eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in their country of origin or country in which they live.
Application Process- The Postprofessional PT program participates in the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS) .
Transcripts – An original copy of all academic transcripts from any institution where classes were taken must be sent to Andrews University. In addition, if the transcripts are not written in English, a copy in the original language as well as the English translation are required.
Recommendations – a minimum of three satisfactory recommendations must be turned in from:
A currently practicing physical therapist
A medical doctor
Another person familiar with the candidate
Portfolio – If you hold a master’s degree or are a DPT trained clinician, you need to submit your portfolio. This has vital information related to your acceptance as well as determination for competency credits. An updated resume needs to be submitted;
Include information on all post graduate continue education courses
Clearly state the number of contact hours
Include copies of course certificates if possible.

PTET – If your highest earned degree is at the bachelor’s level you must submit the results of the Physical Therapist Evaluation Tool (PTET) to allow us to evaluate your competency towards a master’s degree.
