Physics Lab Kit 1

Semester 1 - Forces, Motion, and Energy

Description

Our team of faculty and staff worked together to develop a set of experiments that can be performed with minimal equipment while teaching the core principles of physics. These labs mirror the work performed in a typical first year physics course. Minimal equipment (smartphone, computer, and common household items) from the student will be needed.

Each Semester Lab Kit Includes:

  • Box of Lab Equipment (for one student/group)
  • Digital Access to...
    • Demonstration Videos for each Lab
    • Lab Setup and Procedure Instructions
    • Lab Report Templates

Labs Included:

  • Introduction to Lab Tools
  • Uniform Motion
  • Forces in Equilibrium
  • Motion with Constant Acceleration
  • Newton's 2nd Law
  • Conservation of Energy
  • Conservation of Momentum
  • Rotational Motion
  • Static Equilibrium
  • Archimedes' Principle
  • Calorimetry
  • Simple Harmonic Motion
  • Resonance in a Tube
