Flags Flying This Week

Integrated Marketing & Communication | Posted on April 27, 2016

International flags are flying this weekend to honor the spring graduates of 2016. There are 51 countries represented in this class. The row of flags closest to the church display the flag of Denmark for President Andreasen; the Greek flag for his wife, Demetra; the flag of Great Britain for our provost and president-elect, Andrea Luxton, and the flag of Switzerland to commemorate J.N. Andrews' historic mission trip.

A beloved symbol of the global diversity at Andrews, the International Flag Mall was installed in 1974. The flags are flown five times a year: Spring and summer graduation; Alumni Homecoming Weekend; University Convocation at the beginning of each school year; and International Student Week in the spring.
