DLiT Reorganization Effective July 5

Reorganization to increase support for online education

In an effort to increase support for online education at Andrews University, we are reorganizing the DLiT Department effective July 5. This reorganization will allow us to offer additional services and support for online courses.

We’d like to introduce to you our new full time Course Manager, Amy Maydole. Amy previously worked 10 years supporting online education in the Physical Therapy department.

We have reassigned Marsha Beal as full time Instructional Design and Technology Specialist supporting online courses and offering faculty training.

Denise Shaver is transitioning to full time Lead Instructional Design and Curriculum Specialist also supporting online courses and offering faculty training.

These changes will allow us to assign each online course to a consistent support person every semester, providing LearningHub and technology support, as well as ensuring the best possible delivery and online instruction methods used within the course.

In order to do this, Sam Villamizar, our Learning Systems Administrator, is taking on the DLiT helpdesk responsibilities. Helpdesk tickets for online courses that involve course design will be serviced by the DLiT staff member assigned to the support of that course. All other helpdesk tickets will be serviced by Sam Villamizar and his team.

We look forward to continued excellent service to on-campus, online, and off-campus uses of LearningHub and other educational technology tools.
