There will be a joint come-and-go retirement celebration for Kris Knutson and Carletta Witzel on Thursday, April 18, in the Student Success Center conference room, Nethery Hall Suite 210, from 4–6 p.m.

Kris Knutson has been positively impacting hundreds of lives at Andrews University since 1994. She began her career as an administrative assistant for the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry and moved to the Student Success Center in 2004. Her responsibilities quickly increased to the coordinator of undergraduate advising services in 2005 and then director of Student Success in 2010. From 2013 to the present, Kris has also been working with students on academic probation status in the College of Arts & Sciences and the School of Health Professions. Since January 2016 she has been working with all main campus undergraduate students on academic probation status. In addition to her staff roles, she has served as an adjunct professor, teaching a Communications Skills course. Kris is looking forward to spending more quality time with her husband, dogs and children, and perhaps reviving a favorite hobby or two. Come thank Kris for her excellent service at Andrews.

Carletta Witzel began working for Andrews University in 1996, serving as a tutor in reading and math as well as assisting with academic assessments at the Center for Reading, Learning & Assessment. She taught various courses in reading, career development, arithmetic review and freshman seminar from 1996–2004 and also advised College of Technology students who were on academic probation from 2003–2004. Since 2004 she has been the student intervention coordinator, based in the Student Success Center. Her pivotal roles include academic intervention, disability services, success advising and coordination of study skills seminars. Hundreds of students have benefited from her wise and timely attention to important issues. Carletta has many projects and hobbies in mind, but immediate plans include traveling to visit family and to hike in the mountains. Come wish Carletta well as she moves into the next chapter of her life.
