Community Food Truck to Distribute Free Food in BH

(BENTON HARBOR)—Spectrum Health Lakeland, in partnership with United Way of Southwest Michigan, the City of Benton Harbor, and Feeding America will host a community food truck event in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The food truck will distribute free perishable and non-perishable food items to families from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (while supplies last) on Monday, Jan. 18, at the City of Benton Harbor Fire Station, located at 200 E. Wall Street.

“As we reflect on and celebrate Dr. King’s humanitarian impact, I am inspired by the number of community organizations who have joined together to give back to our community in this tangible way,” said Jerry Price, manager of diversity and inclusion, Spectrum Health Lakeland. “We hope this food will bless many families in need in our community.”

Community members are asked to wear a mask while attending the event and picking up their food from the truck. There will not be areas designated for eating on site and community members are asked to take the food home with them.
