Augsburger Teaching Excellence: Cedric Vine

Employee Awards | Posted on February 22, 2021

Cedric Vine joined the Seminary’s New Testament faculty in 2016 and quickly earned the respect of his students and colleagues as an experienced educator and scholar. In 2020, he became the director of the MA (Religion) and Affiliation and Extension Programs, which expanded both his administrative and teaching impact beyond the Andrews University’s main campus to our world-wide affiliated schools and their students.

Students in their course evaluations have noted that Cedric’s practical applications to pastoral ministry and explanations of a biblical text in Greek were not only intellectually enlightening, but most importantly they learned the value of Greek for their personal walk with the Lord and for preaching. They have commented on his awesome range of knowledge, love for teaching, and passion for the topics in his areas of New Testament expertise.

Cedric has a practical, clear and direct method of teaching, engaging students in order to maximize their learning experience. Students love his British humor and comment that he is a “true English gentleman.” The following student’s statement sums up Cedric as a truly dedicated teacher: “He is truly a man of God who utilizes his education and experience to take his students into the world of the New Testament and beyond.”

Cedric, thank you for your dedication to our students and the godly influence you have on their lives, which will be multiplied in their future ministry. Congratulations for being a recipient of the Daniel A. Augsburger Excellence in Teaching Award.
