Anneris Coria-Navia joined the Department of Teaching, Learning & Curriculum faculty in June of 2014. She came to Andrews University from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where she directed the Language and Culture Program and helped rebuild the institution. At Andrews University, Anneris held positions in the School of Education, where she is a tenured full professor, and has been director of the Center for Teaching & Learning since 2016. In 2022, Anneris was invited to serve the campus as associate vice president for Assessment and Accreditation and chief learning officer. In these capacities, Anneris worked to create spaces for the campus community to learn together and fostered a renewed focus on the importance of institutional and program assessment practices.

While serving at Andrews, Anneris received the Siegfried H. Horn Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Scholarship (2021) and the J.N. Andrews Medallion (2022).

Anneris graduated with a Bachelor of Music in piano performance and music education from the Universidad Adventista del Plata and a Master of Music in music education from Andrews University. She went on to obtain a Master of Arts in education from Andrews and a Master of Arts in Spanish from Miami University, as well as a Doctor of Education in educational administration and leadership from the University of Southern California. Some of her research interests include support and mentorship for early career K–12 teachers and university faculty, effective professional development practices for small institutions, metrics for excellence in small Adventist schools, and faculty barriers and motivators for using active learning methods.

Anneris is joining the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist as an associate director of Education.

Please join us in expressing gratitude for her excellent service at a come-and-go reception in the Campus Center on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 5:30–7 p.m.
