Andrews University, like many organizations maintains an archival program for the management and preservation of records produced in the course of doing business and performing their usual functions.  These records document institutional policies, procedures, and activities and serve a variety of administrative, financial, legal, social, and historical purposes for the organization.  Besides the typical historical function, archives and records management programs help the organization know what records it needs to keep, for how long, and what happens to these records when they are no longer needed by organization.

The policy basis for the Archives is the Andrews University Archives and Records Management Policy in the Andrews University Working Policy section 1:736.
