Graduate Student Grants in Aid of Research (GAR)

Application Deadline: March 31

Graduate students may apply for a Grant-in-Aid-of-Research for up to $1000 to help defray their research expenses (e.g., travel for research and other research expenses). Twenty grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, with applications open during the month of March for use during Summer 2018 through Spring 2019. These grants are for the purposes of research expense reimbursement only, and may not be used to fund student labor or as a scholarship.

If the research applies to one of the funding priorities of the General Conference Office of Archives, Statistics and Research, or of the North American Division Office of Strategic Planning and Research, the application will automatically be forwarded to these offices for the possibility of receiving matching funds, giving the student a total award of $2000. Additionally, if the research involves travel to the General Conference Archives, there is the possibility of receiving matching funds from the General Conference, again giving the student a total award of $2000.
