Innovation in Delivery and Business

School of Business/ Yeet Fleet Challenge

Andrews University is proud to announce the Yeet Fleet Challenge, an interdisciplinary competition that brings together engineering, computer science, business, and design students. Sponsored by ThinkerBox, the School of Business Administration, and the Computer Department, this exciting challenge tasks students with building the future of autonomous delivery while developing a compelling business pitch to bring their robots to the marketplace.

The Challenge

The Yeet Fleet Challenge requires teams of six to design, build, and brand a fully functional autonomous delivery robot. However, this is more than a typical engineering competition—teams must tackle everything from technical performance to market viability.

Teams will need to demonstrate more than just robotic skills—they must also create a comprehensive business pitch outlining how their delivery robot can compete in the real world of logistics and e-commerce. The challenge includes:

Sign-up

Designing custom skins

Autonomous navigation

Collision avoidance

Pedestrian detection

Traffic light recognition

Precise drop-off/pick-up

The Final Showdown

The challenge will culminate in a live robot demonstration and business pitch presentation to a panel of judges. Teams will be evaluated on both their technical achievements and the viability of their business concept, ensuring a balanced approach to innovation.

Scoring: A Blend of Engineering, Design, and Business

Technical Excellence

How effectively does the robot navigate the urban environment, avoid obstacles, and perform delivery tasks autonomously?

Creative Design

Teams will be judged on the aesthetic quality and functionality of their robot’s custom skin. Does the design reflect innovation, and how well does it align with the brand identity?

Business Pitch

Teams must deliver a compelling business case answering key questions:

  • What makes your robot's design and features stand out in the autonomous delivery market?
  • What is your target customer, and how will you market your robot?
  • How can your solution be scaled to disrupt traditional delivery systems, and what is your revenue model?
