Hi, readers! My name is Addison Randall, and this is my second year writing for the Student Movement. I’m a junior studying music and Spanish with a minor in business, but on the pre-law track. My favorite type of arts & entertainment is classical music, however, I also have recently become pretty interested in all sorts of old paintings and artwork. Though I’m actually from Kalamazoo, Michigan, this semester I’ll be writing from Sagunto, Spain, where I will be studying abroad through the Adventist Colleges Abroad program. I am looking forward to exploring plenty of European art museums, attending lots of concerts, and expanding my love of all things artsy in the next few months. Can’t wait to share my findings with you!
Hi, my name is Audrey Lim, and this is my third year writing for the Student Movement in Arts and Entertainment! I’m a junior majoring in sociology, minoring in English, with a pre-law designation. I’m from Southern California, play volleyball and bass guitar, and enjoy entertaining books and films/shows. I love to analyze pop culture media and cultural trends in my essays, and some recent media I’ve consumed include listening to Sade, Radiohead, and The Cranberries, reading fantasy fairytales such as Olivia Atwater’s “Half A Soul”, and watching “Succession” (just for the theme song) and “My Demon.” As for my rewatches, I love “Derry Girls,” “The Heroes of Olympus,” “Kiki’s Delivery Service” and “The Twilight Saga” soundtrack.
Hey guys! My name is Ember Clark, and this is my second year writing for the Student Movement. I’m currently in my third year as an English and education major. I grew up in central Indiana, where I still live when not at school. Thanks to my Hoosier roots, I enjoy all genres of music (yes, even country!). For some band specifics, though, I’ve got concert plans this semester for both Twenty One Pilots and Pierce The Veil. I have a love and appreciation for all kinds of media and art, but my recent obsession has been anything in the mystery genre after finishing the second season of Netflix’s “Wednesday.” Some of my all-time favorite media works include Studio Ghibli films (“Howl’s Moving Castle” is my number one) and the Legend of Zelda game series.
Hello everyone! My name is Corinna Bevier, I am in my junior year here at Andrews and I am majoring in English literature. This is my third year working for the Student Movement, but my second year as the section editor for the Arts and Entertainment section. Since I am an English literature major, I love reading in my spare time, particularly the works of Charlotte Brontë and Jane Austen. When I am not reading, I like to watch movies, and my Letterboxd top four are “The Muppet Movie” (1979), “Jane Eyre” (2011), “Pride and Prejudice” (2005), and “Star Wars” (1977). I listen to all kinds of music, but I particularly enjoy folk music and early jazz standards, artists like Joan Baez, Adrianne Lenker, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, and The Cranberries. I will mostly be editing articles this year, but will also be writing articles! I hope you enjoy all that we put out!
Hi everyone! My name is Lia Glass, and this is my second year writing for the Student Movement. I am a junior studying digital communications with a double minor in English and sociology. I grew up in Wisconsin and have lived in Michigan for the past five years, so I am very Midwestern. I tend to call myself a fake cinephile because while I love the art of film, I also just like to have a good time. My Letterboxd top four are “Tangled” (2010), “Superman” (2025), “Barbie: Princess Charm School” (2011), and “D.E.B.S.” (2004). As for music, my favorite album of all time is Shallow Alcove’s EP “Keepsakes,” and currently on repeat is Conan Gray’s new album “Wishbone.” Currently, I’m catching up on the Batman and Batman adjacent comics that I’ve missed since I stopped following closely (which was in 2016, so I’ve missed a lot). My favorite issue ever is “Robin the Girl Wonder” because, as a kid, I was very excited that a girl briefly got to don the Robin mantle.
Hello! My name is Melanie Webb, and I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I’m a junior studying political science and English with a concentration in writing. This is my second year writing for AUSM. I’m a big fan of music, but I also enjoy watching movies and shows. Though I don’t consider myself much of a critic, I do enjoy observing (and writing about) pop culture. The albums I had on repeat over the summer were Loaded Honey’s “Love Made Trees,” Dua Lipa’s “Radical Optimism,” and Florence + the Machine’s “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.” My favorite artists right now include Hozier, IDKHow, and Jungle. My taste is all over the place. Michael Jackson is always in the top 10, though. The last thing I watched and loved was “Brideshead Revisited” (1981). I’m also currently obsessed with the television series “Bones.”
